Monday Eddie, Lori, Ryan, Colin and I took the tour bus to Red Rock Canyon to see some desert and beautiful rocks. The views were spectacular, but the tour was a little long. At the end it included a sidetrip to a cactus nursery. Not sure why they wanted us to go there, but Lori did buy a beautiful rock (from South America, I think).
Colin had not seen mountains, so this was a treat for him. |

Ryan and Colin took the challenge and climbed up high on the rocks. Getting up was easier than getting down.
You can see tiny specs on the face of the rocks to the right, where climbers are attending a practice school, learning how to use the ropes.
The variety of shapes, textures, and colors was amazing. According to our guide, rock was mined (as you can see above), in the early 1900's. The rock to the left is called Turtle Rock. |

Monday evening, Eddie and Lori treated us to dinner at Changs, an authentic Chinese restaurant at Bally's. |
