Friday DaytimeTour of hotels in a limo |
||||||||||||||||
Ken thought it would be a good idea to tour some of the hotels as a group. The only limo he could find was an extended SUV that could hold 24. So, it held all of us just fine.
Russell and Nicole found the automatic doors fascinating (the doors move on their own, no matter how hard you push you can't change how fast they move). The kids had fun leaping in just before they closed the gap.
The limo had all kinds of crazy lights, including rotating red lasers, which we finally asked them to turn off. |
||||||||||||||||
Andy and Eric sat in the back of the limo early on. I think Eric was already getting tired of having his picture taken. Either that, or he had had a bad breakfast. |

The "New York, New York" hotel was first. All the buildings you see in the upper left are actually the hotel itself, with the Statue of Liberty in the front, and a roller coaster that starts inside the hotel, then moves outside, where, as I understand it, it sometimes goes upside down. Lori said that was her last roller coaster ride, and Andy's stomach gave him trouble the rest of the day. Nicole would have gone, but she didn't make the height limits. |

The roller coaster ended up back inside the hotel, but it was very dark, and so the picture on the right did not turn out very well. However, the ones below show a little of the "terror" of the ride.
Lori and Colin seem to be getting the worst of it.
We stopped at the Venetian hotel to gape at the beautiful paintings on the ceiling of the lobby, and to see the canal that wound its way through the shopping center, while listening to some opera music.
We didn't take the time to wait for a ride in the boats, but enjoyed watching cruise the canal. Everyone chose his or her own lunch in the food court of the Venetian. Shannon and Lori posed with a live statue in St. Marks square. |

Everything took longer than we thought, so our last stop was Caesar's, where everyone was dropped off and was on their own. Lori, Ryan, Kyle, Colin and I lost everyone else once we started touring the Forum Shops.
The statues in the Forum shops were interesting. Some even talked. The limo driver had told us about the ride at Caesars and how good it was. We found the 3-D ride, but it didn't turn out to be the one, at all. Colin left soon after it started, Kyle left sometime later. Ryan stuck it out to the end, but felt a little queasy afterward. |
